The Army Combat Fitness Test, or ACFT, has completely transformed how the U.S. Army measures physical readiness. Replacing the decades-old APFT, this new test is more dynamic, combat-focused, and designed to evaluate full-body strength, endurance, and agility.

The ACFT includes six events: the 3-rep max deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank hold, and a 2-mile run. Each event challenges a different aspect of fitness, and together they give a well-rounded picture of a soldier’s ability to handle the physical demands of combat operations.
